Our platform handles this automatically for Belgium (6%/12%), France (5.5%/10%), the Netherlands (9%), Germany (7%/19%), Luxembourg (8%) and Austria (10%/20%). As soon as a customer chooses 'Dine-in' or 'Takeaway/Delivery', the system applies the correct VAT rates for your country (such as 6% vs 12% for food in Belgium). You never have to set anything manually and your bookkeeping is always accurate.

Each product gets a tax category: food, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks or standard. Together with the order type (dine-in or takeaway) and your business country, it determines the VAT rate applied to every order line — automatically and always snapshotted on the order.

Yes. Every invoice and the order overview show a breakdown per VAT rate (e.g. base 6% and VAT 6%), and the accounting page totals them into a quarterly VAT summary you can export as CSV.

For all other European countries, our platform automatically applies your store's default VAT rate. You keep full control to set the correct rate per product. As soon as we activate region-specific dynamic rules for your area, your account switches over automatically.

No. The Cloud-TSE module (€4.50/month per active POS terminal) is only required when you take physical, in-person payments through the POS in Germany — KassenSichV applies to electronic cash registers, not online orders. Pure webshops and booking channels are 100% exempt. If you ever bind a physical register in Germany, the module is added automatically.

German tax law (KassenSichV) requires that every in-person transaction is tied to a registered, uniquely identified cash register (Kassen-ID / Client-ID) linked to a certified TSE unit — that is what the device binding step establishes. This applies exclusively to businesses operating in Germany. Businesses in other countries, such as the Netherlands and Belgium, can start using the POS instantly without binding any devices.
